P4/3 had their book launch on Wednesday 19th March.  Lots of mums, dads and friends came to the launch to hear us read our fantastic stories!  Primary 3 and Primary 5 dropped by to hear us read too!  We changed our classroom about and everyone stood behind their books and were asked questions about their stories.  It was fun being an authour and an illustrator.  We even had a fancy purple velvet chair with purple tinsel and read our stories using a microphone!   We put lots of effort into our castle books and it was really great to share our stories with everyone.

P4/3 Castle Book Launch

March 13, 2008

Everybody in P4/3 is writing a story about a castle. The stories will be in books that look like castles. We have been putting our stories into chapters and have been making our main characters from different materials. Our books will have pictures in them and will be ready next week.  We are inviting mums and dads and other classes in to hear us reading our stories.  By Scott and Ben

P4/3 World Book Day

March 5, 2008

As it is World Book Day on Thursday 6th March P4/3 have been making posters and bookmarks to celebrate. One of our homework tasks was to find out what sorts of books our parents and friends enjoy reading. Everyone in the school was given a £1 token for World Book Day and we used our token to buy Adventure According to Humphrey by Betty G Birney which was written especially for World Book Day. Our class have read the other two Humphrey books and we really enjoy them because they are great adventure books. We have been able to read together as a class which has been really great. The whole school will be dressing up to celebrate World Book Day on Thursday. We can’t wait! HAPPY WORLD BOOK DAY!

Funnybones

 funnybones!

During October and November every P1 child in the United Kingdom will receive a free book to take home and share with their family. The book this year is Funnybones and P1 just loved the pictures and story. The book is to encourage the love of reading and sharing fun and information with children and parents or family members. Here are some pictures of Primary 1 G enjoying their books in their Spooky House Corner at Halloween.
