The K-Nex Challenge

April 30, 2008

knex

The whole of p.6. came together to decide who would go to calender park to compete against other schools. So we had to make something to hold a shoe and a rubber. The man that came in to show us how to do it had to make a ramp. You also had to make the shoe and rubber to stay in and not fall off.

It took alot of hard work to try to get the shoe to fit and the rubber to stay in the right place. You got 1 trial and then you had to get judged.

Charlie and Scott won and the runner ups we Kiera ,Courtney and Katlinn.

March 19, 2008

Our Out-of-School Learning Dance Club members will be attending The Day of Dance on Friday 28.03.08.  I’d be grateful if our members could wear a white shirt for the event.  We have Country Dance skirts for our girls and tartan sashes for all our members.  Our boys should wear dark trousers.

We hope to be back in school by approximately 1:00pm so members will need a packed lunch.  They should also bring a water bottle for the event.

Book Fayre

We are delighted to announce that we are holding our second Book Fayre of this session from Thursday 06.03.08 until Tuesday 11.03.08. This will coincide with World Book Day which is on Thursday 06.03.08. Your child will make two visits, one to browse and the other to purchase books, should they wish to.  Parents are warmly invited to visit the Fayre during the school day, on any of these dates, to make purchases on their child’s behalf.

To celebrate World Book Day, pupils (and staff!) are invited to come to school dressed as a character from a book. There will be a prize for the best costume for each stage. Our Parent Council members are already planning their costumes!  A donation on this day of  £0.50 from each pupil would be greatly appreciated.  This is to raise funds for  The Sunshine International Charity Fund, which is a project supporting street children in the Ukraine. This initiative is providing excellent  learning opportunities for our pupils in International Education, Global Citizenship and Enterprise.  Mr. Olyott, our P5/6 teacher, is visiting the project during the Easter holidays.
