Easter tea towels

February 28, 2008

As a whole school initiative, our pupils are producing self-portraits to be printed on tea towels.  These would make a lovely Easter gift for family members.  The cost is £5.00 each.  If you would like to place an order,  please get in touch with the office.

Book Fayre

February 28, 2008

We are delighted to announce that we are holding our second Book Fayre of this session from Thursday 06.03.08 until Tuesday 11.03.08. This will coincide with World Book Day which is on Thursday 06.03.08. Your child will make two visits, one to browse and the other to purchase books, should they wish to.  Parents are warmly invited to visit the Fayre during the school day, on any of these dates, to make purchases on their child’s behalf.

To celebrate World Book Day, pupils (and staff!) are invited to come to school dressed as a character from a book. There will be a prize for the best costume for each stage. Our Parent Council members are already planning their costumes!  A donation on this day of  £0.50 from each pupil would be greatly appreciated.  This is to raise funds for  The Sunshine International Charity Fund, which is a project supporting street children in the Ukraine. This initiative is providing excellent  learning opportunities for our pupils in International Education, Global Citizenship and Enterprise.  Mr. Olyott, our P5/6 teacher, is visiting the project during the Easter holidays.

P4/3 assembly

February 22, 2008

P4/3 Assembly

The assembly was about a King and his family and some double glazing salesmen came to visit.  They gave the king some cloaks.  One of them was colourful, beautiful and shiny the other was dull, old and ragged.  When the King puts on the nice one it makes him become a mean man and the other one makes him nice. By Meighan

I liked standing on the stage and saying my lines.  I was a child and had to say “Poor King, why are you crying?” By Mhairi

The part I enjoyed most was singing the ‘He’s Mean’ song.I liked singing all the songs and dancing to them too!  The story taught us you don’t need to have everything to be happy.  Abby

My favourite part was when we danced to Mika.  I liked Cameron’s expression when he said WHAT!  My favourite part was when we sung the songs.  I liked Scott as the narrator.  By Ben

I liked it when the King threw the cloak off stage!  I thought the singing was good.  I liked the feast when Abbie and Liam went round with the lobster and duck!  By Neave
