golden time

At Golden Time we sometimes swap classes. We get to choose which activity we go to. They can be such things as ball games, cooking, working with the little ones, art, sewing and Scottish things.

Sometimes we don’t swap! In our class we have played on a Dance Mat, with Buzz, we painted, went on the computer or choose something ourselves. The activities are really good fun!

P4/3 took part in the Climate Action Awards!

November 29, 2007

P4/3 did their bit to help combat climate change.  We sent away for a booklet from the RSPB and it was full of fun ideas to help save the planet. We had to do six out of 11 activities.  Some of the activities involved switching off lights and electrical items that were on standby, walking to school, learning about animals which are close to extinction and where we get our food from.  When we finished we were sent some cool stickers and each got a certificate.  It’s true - just one little action makes a world of difference.

The Kosmic Krew come to school!

November 28, 2007

Kosmic Krew

The Kosmic Krew are a pantomime team.  They came to school on Tuesday 27th November, in the morning.  They went on an mission in space.  They had to find the other half of a magical mysterious stone.  It opened up a gate to the stars!  Their mission took them to see the Egyptians, the Vikings and much more.

The Kosmic Krew had an enemy - and he had a crush on our deputy head!  He even wanted to eat our Headteacher.  He was very bad!

Circulation

November 27, 2007

sciene

On Friday we were learning some Science. We were learning about Circulation. There were two people at each table, each pair were given a part of the body, such as the heart, the brain or the stomach. Everybody else got a card which was red on one side and blue on the other. They took their card to the heart to see which part of the body they should go to. Next they would have to go to the lungs to get oxygen back into the blood – as the card was turned to blue – to show it didn’t have any oxygen in it. Then they went back to the heart and repeated the task.

The two classes paraded around the hall. Primary 1 G made their white thinking hats in the shape of the “The Cat in the Hat”, P 1M made thinking hats like chefs hats and Primary 2 made their thinking hats of a ring of stars.Mrs Barclay read a story and then asked the children to remind her of some of the facts that they had heard in the story. In De Bono’sThinking skills the white hat wants to know facts and asks “What do we know? ” and “What do we need to find out ?”. There are 6 Thinking Hats and the next hat Primary 1 and 2 will be looking at shortly is the Red hat which deals with feelings and emotions.
