It has been quiet on here of late… we are all looking forward to finishing on Friday at 1pm. That’ll be us away until 19th August (apart from the staff who obviously live at the school).
Our latest newsletters, including a Nursery one, can be found here.
Sometime in May P4/3 planted sunflowers into individual pots. We filled the pots with soil and then made a hole for the seed. We put 2 seeds in each pot and put them into our new greenhouse! We made sure that we gave the plants enough water and checked them every few days. It took them a few weeks to start growing. Last week we were able to take them home and plant them against a wall or fence so they can grow tall.
On Friday the 13th of June, P4/3 had an expereince of drawing a self portrait BUT they were not allowed to use their hands! We have been learning about different disabilities in our EVS topic.
Emma said ” I felt really excited to do this and found it quite hard!”
Cameron said “It felt kind of wierd because you are usually so used to using your hands!”
Meighan told us ” I found it very hard and I got frustrated!”
Craig told us “I got annoyed because I couldn’t get the shape drawn that I wanted.”
P4/3 got a visit from the sensory centre to help us with our EVS topic. The person that came was called Mhairi, she showed us how to sign happy birthday in sign lanuage. She also showed us some things that deaf and blind people use in their everyday lives like a alarm clock that deaf people put under their pillows and vibrates at the time they set it for. It was brilliant! We all learned how to sign our names! We all enjoyed it!By Liam and Abby
